Pizza by the Sea Loves Gluten-Free

[ 4 ] March 17, 2011 |

The crust is dairy, egg and gluten-free. And you'd never know it.

I love Pizza by the Sea in WaterColor. It is a family-run business and the pizza, soups and salads are absolutely delicious. Seriously. I eat here at least once a week and have yet to be disappointed. Since we’re gluten-free, I especially appreciate the buttery gluten-free crust they offer. It contains no dairy, no eggs and no gluten. It’s crispy where it is supposed to be and has a slightly sweet taste to it.

Currently, Pizza by the Sea offers only cheese and soy cheese (they no longer carry Daiya vegan cheese). I’m rallying for a Daiya return. In the meantime, they won’t look at you funny if you bring in your own little bag of Daiya to be used instead of soy. I’ve tried both soy and Daiya on the gluten-free crust and prefer the Daiya.

If you have no problem consuming regular cheese, they serve a very high grade shredded mozzarella.

And, if like us, you become addicted (try the spinach salad too), ask about the discount card they offer.

Pizza by the Sea is located off of Highway 395S, near Scenic 30A. Call (850) 231-3030 for information.
