Family Beach Photos at 30A Studio in Grayton Beach

Photographer Shelly Swanger captures childhood fun.

I’m a sucker for a great photograph. I suppose that is why I’m absolutely smitten with the latest work of photographer Shelly Swanger. Shelly is photographing beloved toys from her childhood in ways that are different and unique.

Can you imagine how fabulous Mr. Potato Head (above) would look as a large print?

These photos are perfect for a child’s room because they are timeless. Fun while the kiddos are little and a bit quirky once they are older. Shelly is considering custom photography of beloved toys too (as in, you supply the toy and she’ll photograph it for you). I can’t think of a better way to preserve memories of a precious teddy bear or doll – can you?

Shelly works out of the newly opened 30A Studio in Grayton Beach. She shares the small little cottage with photographers Sheila Goode and Jackie Ward and jewelry artist Allison Craft, whose pearls have graced the necks of Shawn Mullins and Paula Dean (and a whole lot more).

Sheila and Jackie are two of the sweetest family photographers you’ll find in NW Florida (and yes, I’m totally biased because I like them too). They are also talented at getting those shots that just make you want to swoon with happiness.

Sheila took the photo above for a fun little toy shop that is located in Seaside, Duckies Shop of Fun. The girls look so grown up in this photo, like they have such important news to share. It just cracks me up.

Here’s a cherubic little boy enjoying time at Frost Bites shaved ice. I love the colors and the rust on the old signs in the background. Jackie, Sheila and Shelly have also been teaming up to photograph weddings. A talented crew!

Rounding out the bunch is Allison Craft, whose baubles seem to be adorning everyone’s necks and wrists lately. Talk show host Rachel Ray is a fan, as are a slew of other celebrities. It’s important to Allison that her work is affordable – and there is always a new creation to be found at 30A Studio.
