In our house, rarely a day goes by where a word or phrase doesn’t evoke full-on belly laughs from my four year old. While watching such joy from my boy, I was reminded of several South Walton kid-friendly spots whose names are sure to tickle the funny bone. And, more importantly, serve up delicious fare that won’t break the bank.
Stinky’s Fish Camp
Few word s are funnier to kids than stinky. But there isn’t a thing laughable about the solid meal you will receive at Stinky’s Fish Camp. My son inhales the smoothies and chicken fingers, the seafood chowder is outta sight and their Po Boys are simply priceless.
For a window of time, Elmo is the equivalent of Elvis to most young kids. He reigns king. So merely mentioning that your destination is Elmo’s may just mesmerize Junior. And even though the Sesame Street monster himself won’t be making an appearance, Elmo’s Grill delivers on great seafood specials and fun, live music leaves your whole family feeling warm and fuzzy.
Goats with feathers?! Oh the hilarity! Once you get past that mental picture, the happy hour appetizer, meal and drink specials are not to be missed. And how about this: the kid meals are served in Frisbees they can take home. Cleaning one’s plate never had so much purpose. And for parents of persnickety eaters, that’s nothing short of pure genius.
Fat Daddy’s Pizza
Their logo of an exaggerated portly dad is silly, but a hot, cheesy pizza pie at a reasonable price is serious business. They will even cut your ‘za into squares for little fingers to eat with ease. Throw in delivery options and two dine-in locations to choose from (Destin and Santa Rosa Beach) and I’ll go ahead and say it: Fat Daddy’s easily fits the bill.
